The total area of the waters of Mollucas is more than  658,000 km2 and is widely used for human activities as infrastructure development land. This activity becomes one of the factors that cause negative impact for coastal area. Based on some observations, in the coastal region ofKamal within the last few years experienced many changes. As a result of this change, the coastline suffered a setback and the residents’ land also eroded. This is inversely related to the need for land that continues to rise each year.
The purpose of this study is to determine the magnitude of coastline changes that occurred in Kamal and determine the onshore structure that expected to prevent further damage in the future. Data analysis conducted in this paper are wind data processing obtained from BMKG and the calculations of tides and waves obtained from the results of measurements and calculate the height of the water surface using data from LIPI.
The results of this research show that the greatest coastline change occurs on 12th lane of 11.20 m (erosion). The suitable onshore structure used in the research location is revetment. Thus the major changes to the coastline in the area can be resolved.References
